A fabulous welcome in Brighton (my thanks to all there and especially Nikki, the director, pictured) when it was most needed.
Today I hit the south coast - when I eventually found it! As for the South Downs, they should be called the 'South Ups' as I spent a lot more time on the latter.
Pre-tour estimated miles: 95
Actual miles: 104

Hi David, Katleen here.. whenever I get a moment later in the evenings I always catch up on your blog... You are doing such a smashing job! Hope you are applying plenty of suncream, drinking plenty, as if the weather is as nice where you are as it is where we are, it's sweltering heat, strong sun, and not much of a breeze!!! I think you are doing a marvellous job... hope Sarah, Shem and Sylvia are doing ok...

Hi David, I'm a day or two late in catching up on your progress. Andy and I continue to be really impressed with your effort. Andy has cycled to work twice this week. As to canadian women, you know we are a hardy lot! Anyway, for your next sabbatical you too can follow the Tour route!
Lots of love,
Hi David
You are doing a great job. Nice to meet you and good luck with the rest of the tour!
kind regards
